Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the Carlsberg Foundation Research Award 2017 at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen.
She attended the event as a guest of honor and gave to scholarships: one to Professor Mette Birkedal Bruun for her work with church history and the other one to Professor Karl Anker Jorgensen for his work with organic chemistry.

From the website: "The objective of the Carlsberg Foundation Research Prize is to support two activities researchers, in Denmark or abroad, who have made crucial contributions to basic research and enjoy widespread scientific recognition."
Each prizewinner receives DKK 1 million (about $160,000), DKK 250,000 for personal use and DKK 750,000 to fund a research project.
