The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Nazi German Concentration camp Stutthof, which is located in Northern Poland. It was the first camp set up outside German borders and one of the last liberated by the Soviet army.
Il duca e la duchessa di Cambridge si sono recati al campo di concentramento nazista di Stutthof, situato a nord della Polonia. Fu il primo campo costruito al di fuori dei confini tedeschi e uno degli ultimi ad essere liberati dalle armate russe.
The royal couple met survivors Marek, Maria and Czeslaw who spoke about their experience in the camp. 110,000 people were imprisoned in Stutthof and 65,000 died as a result of executions and horrendous living conditions.
La coppia reale ha poi incontrato Marek, Maria e Czedlaw, sopravvissuti che hanno parlato della loro esperienza nel campo. 110.000 persone sono state imprigionate a Stutthof e 85.000 morirono nel campo a causa delle esecuzioni e delle tremende condizioni di vita.
Later in the afternoon, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled to Gdansk. As they arrived they joined a street party drinking Goldwasser - a local liqueur - and watching amber craftsmen at work.
Più in là nel pomeriggio, il duca e la duchessa si sono spostati a Gdansk. Una volta arrivati, si sono uniti ad una festa di strada bevendo Goldwasser - un liquore locale - e osservando gli artigiani di ambra al lavoro.
