The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Lawn Tennis Association. She became a patron of the organization at the end of 2016 when the patronage was passed on to her by Queen Elizabeth.
The visit, the first solo engagement since announcing her third pregnancy in early September, took place at the National Tennis Centre in London.

Lawn Tennis Association is to "get more people playing tennis more often by acting as guardians to promote and safeguard the integrity of the sport." They intend to do so by delivering great service to Clubs, growing participation among children and young people, and building partnership in the communities.

Thanks to this approach, throughout 2017, "Tennis for Kids" campaign will give 22,500 children the chance to play and enjoy tennis through free quality coaching and a free racket.
During the visit, the Duchess watched several on-court sessions and met junior tennis talents and some of the Coach Core apprentices. She enjoyed several activities such as a wheelchair tennis demonstration and a tennis workshop for children aged 5 to 8.
It was the first time Catherine was accompained by her new private secretary, Catherine Quinn. She replaced Deacon earlier this month.
Catherine enjoyed a coaching session with British professional tennis player and "Tennis for Kids" ambassador Johanna Konta. Johanna won 3 single titles on the WTA tour, 11 singles and 4 doubles on the ITF circuit. She is the British current number one.
A coach with the association told People Magazine: "[Kate] says with George just being 4 he wants to whack a balla. So, she was asking what sort of stuff should be doing. She said he's interested in it but more in Whacking the ball."
