Kensington Palace wrote via Twitter: "At least 20% of women are affected by mental health problems during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child. If left untreated, maternal mental health problems can leave significant and long-lasting effects on the woman and her family. The Duchess of Cambridge has spoken about the importance of having open conversations about mental health and the impact this can have on a family."
